We recently settled a case for a healthy 56-year-old man, a husband and father, who went in for gall bladder surgery. An error by the doctors caused this surgery to go horribly wrong. As a result, the patient became very sick. An infection spread and the patient ultimately died of sepsis. This death was preventable.
